USD transfer to the USA - how long does it take and what are the typical costs?

The transfer in dollars to a bank in the USA is carried out via the SWIFT network and usually arrives within 1-3 business days (the time of the order, holidays in the USA and the number of intermediary banks depend on it). In addition to the service fee, there may be intermediary costs and the recipient's bank fee - in the OUR option they are covered by the sender, in SHA they may be deducted from the transfer. You will see the exact cost and path in the GLOBALtransfer Panel before confirmation.

SHA or OUR when transferring in dollars - what to choose and when?

In USD to the USA, deductions by intermediary banks are common, so if the full amount at the recipient is important (e.g. payment from an invoice), choose OUR. The SHA option is cheaper on the sender's side, but the recipient may receive less in terms of intermediary and bank fees. For transfers to EOP in USD, SHA is sometimes sufficient, to the USA it is usually safer to choose OUR.

What information is needed for a USD transfer?

Provide the recipient's name and address, their US bank account number, and ABA Routing Number. SWIFT transfers also require the BIC/SWIFT of the recipient's bank or USD intermediary bank. In the title, enter a reference to the invoice or a description of the payment. The GLOBALtransfer panel will indicate the required fields for the selected track.

Is IBAN required for the USA?

YEAH. The United States does not use IBAN. Instead, the account number and ABA Routing Number of the recipient's bank are required (plus possibly BIC/SWIFT when sending via SWIFT).

The most common problems with USD transfers and how to solve them quickly

Data errors (wrong routing or account number) and exceeding the cut-off time cause delays. USD often goes through correspondent banks - a source of additional SHA deductions. After placing the order, check the status in the GLOBALtransfer Panel; If you notice an error, please contact our support immediately. To avoid differences in amounts for the recipient, select OUR and make sure that the bank details (routing, BIC/SWIFT) are up to date.
