CAD transfer to Canada – how long does it take and what costs should be included?
Transfers to Canada are processed via SWIFT and usually arrive within 1-3 business days, depending on the time of the order and the number of correspondent banks. In the GLOBALtransfer Panel you will see the approximate deadline and cost options. Since intermediary deductions are more common outside EOP, before shipping, it is worth checking whether the regular or expedited mode is more profitable and which cost option better secures the amount with the recipient.
SHA or OUR when transferring in CAD – what to choose?
In relations with Canada, intermediary costs are common, so for "down to the cent" payments we usually recommend OUR. If the priority is lower cost on your end and you accept that the recipient may get slightly less, choose SHA. In the panel, you can compare both options before confirmation, which will help you avoid surprises after the funds are credited.
What data is needed for transfer in CAD?
Canada does not use IBAN. You need full details of the recipient, account number, bank settlement details (Institution Number and Transit Number) and BIC/SWIFT for international transfers. Enter the invoice number or purpose description in the subject line. The wizard in the GLOBALtransfer Panel will indicate the correct field format and detect typical mistakes before the order is settled.
The most common CAD transfer problems and quick solutions
The most difficult problems are caused by incorrect routing numbers or incomplete details of the recipient's bank. If something is questionable, check the status in the panel and contact support as soon as possible. To avoid deductions along the way and differences in amounts, select OUR; when you want to reduce costs on your end, consider SHA, keeping in mind potential intermediary fees.
CAD exchange rate and the moment of shipment - when does exchanging funds make sense?
If you ultimately need PLN, compare the exchange cost before transfer in the panel with shipping directly in CAD. For invoice payments in Canadian dollars, it is most often preferable to send CAD, because it simplifies settlement and reduces exchange rate risk on the recipient's side. The transaction summary will show the total cost of both paths.
